The current release combines capture, presentation, a persistent local library and local export tools.

Video recording

• Record a browser tab, application window, entire screen or selected region.
• Choose 720p, 1080p, 4K UHD or original source.
• Use 30 or 60 FPS when supported.
• Add microphone, shared audio and an optional movable webcam overlay.
• Pause, resume, mute, add markers and stop from the recorder, floating controller or side panel.

Presentation effects

• Cursor spotlight and click-ripple feedback on supported webpages.
• Live pen, highlighter, arrow and rectangle tools.
• Keyboard shortcuts for recorder access, pause/resume, stop and markers.

Reliability and saving

• Completed recordings remain in the Saved Recordings library after starting another recording.
• Interrupted-recording recovery when completed data is available.
• Persistent-storage request, storage checks and low-space warning.
• Chrome Downloads by default, optional Save As, or a folder explicitly selected by the user.

Library and trimming

• Play, rename, search, pin, download and delete local recording copies.
• Open recordings from the popup, player, Recent Activity or side panel.
• Trim a selected range into a new copy while preserving the original.
• Retain applicable recording markers in trimmed copies.

Local export workspace

• Export MP4 when a compatible Chrome encoder is available.
• Compress video using extra-small, smaller, balanced or high-quality presets.
• Create short animated GIFs with selectable width, frame rate and time range.
• Preview output and cancel processing without altering the original.
