What image metadata can reveal
Photos can contain EXIF and related metadata such as camera model, capture settings, software information, timestamps and, when location tagging was enabled, GPS coordinates. That information can be useful in an archive, but it may be unnecessary when publishing an image on a website, sending a public copy or preparing a batch for distribution.
